Mt Batur
Join us for a sunrise trek to the summit of Mt.Batur (1717 meters) and experience the awesome beauty of an active volcano. Trekking in the cool, early morning darkness (torches, hiking sticks and wet weather gear supplied, if needed), we begin the one to two hour ascent (not difficult) to arrive in time to witness a glorious sunrise and experience the stunning morning views of the surrounding crater and lake.
This trek is a relatively easy climb and is suitable for most persons and children. It is one of the most attractive volcanoes in Indonesia and one of the easiest to climb. The sunrise, the majestic views of the lake and surrounding mountains in the morning and the rugged beauty of an active volcano make this trip a must for visitors to this fabled island.
Mt Agung
Trekking to the peak of the active volcano, Mt. Agung, Bali’s holiest and tallest mountain (3142 meters) takes four to five hours (eight – ten hours for the return journey). It is a somewhat difficult trek and requires a good level of fitness and some bravado, but is an extremely worthwhile and amazing spiritual experience.
Departing at 1 – 2 a.m. (head torches and wet weather gear supplied, if needed) after making an offering and prayer at the holy Pasar Agung temple, the highest in Bali, we begin the ascent of this impressive volcano to arrive in time to witness the most remarkable sunrise you will see in Bali and to enjoy the spectacular morning views of the neighboring islands of Lombok, Nusa Penida and the whole south and east of Bali. Trekking first through jungle (where you can see wildlife on the return journey) we pass the tree line and trek up the lava flows of the 1963 eruption enjoying the spectacular night views of Bali (the lights are amazing). After sunrise and making an offering and prayer on the summit of this holy mountain we enjoy a well deserved breakfast before beginning our descent.

I loved this tour. Everything is will arranged and our guide made jokes the whole way up. Just a quick note, this hike is harder than I expected, make sure you wear good shoes and are in good physical condition.
Really nice guide and driver. The driver even bought us rain ponchos when the weather was bad. The trip was harder than I thought though, but doable for anyone who really wants it.
